In the last months of 1997, unofficially, a seed was planted for this House of Children, through a single child who was unhappy to attend a school. It grew as a sapling with nine children and in May 1998, as Samagna Montessori House of Children, at the founder’s residence. Within a couple of years, under the guidance of Mrs. Lakshmi Krishnakumar, it flourished with 45 children, 2 AMI Primary trained adults and one assistant.
In April 2000, Samagna MHOC moved to its new premises to Saidabad. By 2003, it started to work with more than 50 children and 4 AMI trained adults. In August 2006, the old premise was renovated according to the norms of the Montessori Philosophy. In January 2009, Samagna Elementary School, the first AMI Elementary in Hyderabad, with one AMI Elementary teacher and 18 children, was inaugurated by Mrs. Lakshmi Krishnakumar and Ms. Carla Foster. Since 2009, the Elementary classroom is flourishing with committed AMI Elementary teachers, the cooperation of respected parents and 50 wonderful children.
Our school vision is to spread awareness about Montessori Philosophy in the rural areas.
