Beginning of IMF

In January 2009, India had the honour of hosting the 26th International Montessori Congress at the Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, welcoming over six hundred participants from thirty-nine countries in a vibrant exchange of ideas and inspiration. Following this significant event, there was a shared belief that it should lead to something of lasting value for the country. This vision led to the establishment of the Indian Montessori Foundation (IMF), with a mission to help children reach their potential through the principles and practices of Montessori education, contributing to a more harmonious and peaceful world.
