REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to ensure guests an amazing experience and to maintain guest loyalty.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To operate restaurant on a daily basis with efficiency, respect, friendliness, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
- Understanding philosophy of management and owner, attention to detail and follow through of all restaurant policies. Understanding the four-star dining environment, direction and growth of the restaurant.
- Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
- Buff silver and glassware as needed and disperse to all stations.
- MAKE COFFEES AND TEAS FOR THE DINING ROOM
- Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
- Place the needs of the guests first.
- Check stations and clean as required.
- Clean and Disperse glassware in stations
- Assist Bartenders and Assistants with garbage and recycling.
- Inspect the assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests, communicating requests to Captain as needed
- Greet all guests, coworkers, and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings.
- Respond appropriately to guests’ requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
- Have full understanding and knowledge of all products being served from your station.
- Present Coffee, Tea and Espresso drinks in a timely manner with perfect product and service.
- Assist runners as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform and tools.
- Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry trays and bus tubs weighing up to 20 pounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by the restaurant environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
- Must be able to stand and work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and cases of water and wine.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the restaurant on a timely basis.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- . Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
