The Denali Park Village is seeking a dedicated and versatile Maintenance Worker to join our team for the upcoming spring and summer season. This position is crucial to ensuring our hotel facilities are well-maintained, safe, and comfortable for guests and staff. The Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance, repair tasks, and support the opening and closing of facilities each season. This is a hands-on role suited for someone skilled in various trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work, who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup of hotel facilities at the beginning of the season, including full property water-up process, preparing rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.

• Support the closing process at the end of the season by winterizing plumbing, securing equipment, and preparing facilities for the off-season.
• Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients, and co-workers. 
• Adaptable to customer needs.
• Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc.
• Inspects assigned area on a routine basis and performs maintenance as needed to keep facility in functioning and serviceable condition.
• Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Reports on any major maintenance need and recommends corrective action as appropriate.
• Demonstrates efficient and safe use of equipment and tools.
• Coordinates with different departments including Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B and Human Resources.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience required. Previous hotel and seasonal experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
