Job Description
Our client, a meeting and entertainment nonprofit in NYC, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sponsorship to lead sponsorship sales efforts for their events, programs, and initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in driving revenue growth through strategic prospecting, cultivation, and closing of high-value sponsorships, including six- and seven-figure deals. The Director of Sponsorship will be responsible for identifying target categories and companies, attracting and securing corporate partners, and building strong, long-term relationships with senior-level decision-makers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event sales, sponsorship, or development, coupled with a deep understanding of event marketing and sponsorship strategy. A background in nonprofit or media/entertainment is highly desirable. This is a full onsite position and requires 5-days/week in office in Midtown Manhattan.
Responsibilities:- Research, identify, and develop new sponsorship opportunities across relevant categories and companies.
- Prospect, cultivate, and secure high-value corporate sponsors, funders, and members.
- Develop compelling and creative sponsorship packages, proposals, and marketing presentations.
- Secure and lead in-person meetings and presentations with senior executives and key decision-makers.
- Negotiate and close six- and seven-figure sponsorship deals.
- Manage and implement sponsorship and corporate membership benefits to ensure strong partner engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship deliverables.
- Track, analyze, and report on sponsorship performance, ROI, and partnership outcomes.
- Stay current on industry trends in sponsorship, events, and marketing to inform strategy and outreach.
Required Qualifications:- Proven track record of success in sponsorship, event sales, or business development with demonstrated ability to close six- and seven-figure deals.
- Strong existing relationships with senior executives who hold sponsorship decision-making authority.
- Expertise in event marketing and sponsorship sales strategy.
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to develop creative, tailored sponsorship proposals that align with sponsor objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Background in nonprofit, media, or entertainment industries strongly preferred.
