1947 An AMI Course is held in Madras. Jer Garda, close associate of Tehmina Wadia, does the training. Shreyas, a Day-Boarding Junior School is founded in Shahibaug, with Maria Montessori as its first President and Mario Montessori Sr., and Saraladevi as Vice-Presidents. The Montessoris return to London.
1948 AMI Courses are held in Madras, Pune and Ahmedabad. To Educate the Human Potential, From Childhood to Adolescence, and The Discovery of the Child are published. Tehmina Wadia founds Besant Montessori School, Mumbai on 6th January. Among the first teachers of Besant Montessori School are Agnes Kottwal and Jer Garda.
1949 An AMI Course is held in Karachi. The Absorbent Mind is published. The Montessoris finally returns to Europe after conducting 16 courses on the subcontinent.
1950 What you should know about your Child and The Formation of Man are published. A. M. Joosten takes over the training in India.
1951 Maria Montessori is nominated for the third time for Nobel Peace Prize.
1952 Maria Montessori passes away at the age of 81. The 1st AMI course is held in Calcutta with A. M. Joosten as Director of Training.
1953 The 2nd AMI Course is held in Calcutta.
1954 The 3rd AMI Course is held in Calcutta.
1955 The 4th AMI Course is held in Bangalore.
1956 The 5th AMI Course is held in Bangalore.
1957 The 6th AMI Course is held in Delhi.
1958 The 7th AMI Course is held in Delhi.
1959 The 8th AMI Course is held in Delhi.
1960 The 9th AMI Course is held in Hyderabad.
1961 The 10th AMI Course is held in Hyderabad.
1962 The 11th AMI Course is held in Calcutta.
1963 The 12th AMI Course is held in Calcutta. Zarin Malva joins Casa Montessori run by Dinoo Dubash.
1964 The 13th AMI Course is held in Calcutta. Meenakshi Sivaramakrishnan does the training. Kaybee School Aids Manufacturing Co. Mumbai publishes a detailed catalogue and price list.
1965 The 14th AMI Course is held in Ranchi.
1966 The 15th AMI Course is held in Ranchi.
1967 The 16th AMI Course is held in Bangalore. Zarin Malva does her 3-6 training in the United States under Mother Isabel.
